In Our Nature: The Dualle Approach to Natural Dyeing
How we achieve Super Natural Comfort through natural dyeing method
Developed with a microbiologist, our natural hand-dyeing methods reduce our energy output while enhancing the antibacterial, anti-odour and thermoregulating benefits of our fabrics. This keeps our garments breathable, fresh and ultra-comfortable on the skin while protecting its most intimate areas. Here’s how we make it happen.
Cold Dyeing
Our cold dyeing method involves colouring the woven fabric rather than the yarn itself. It’s less energy intensive but takes longer. The fabric is slow-fermented in a pot of natural colour extract and left to dry in the open air for up to three months. Cold dyeing results in stronger colour adherence to the fabric, enabling a wider range of tones with higher intensity.

Our recipes carry the antibacterial, antimicrobial and other beneficial properties of their source plant through to the skin via the gradual shedding of micro-tannins released in the natural course of wear.
-
That said, no colour will rub off onto the skin or other garments. We’ve optimised our natural colouring method to ensure perfect colour fastness.
-
Natural dyeing can result in slight colour variation across the fabric surface. This effect is intentional and reflects the living colour’s rich and unique patina.
Quality Assurance
To validate the quality of our garments, we’ve successfully tested each of our natural dyes against the following certifications:
-
Sun exposure: UNI EN ISO 105-B02:2014
-
Friction: UNI EN ISO 105-X12:2016
-
Wash fastness: UNI EN ISO 105-E01:2013
