Fil d´Écosse Knee-high Socks
Our lightest unisex Fil d'Écosse socks are made in Italy. Featuring a long length that extends just below the knees, they’re ideal for achieving a wrinkled effect when styled with sandals or worn as smart long socks. The extremely thin yet durable and breathable Egyptian cotton is treated (mercerised) for a high sheen and luxurious appearance to ensure unmatched softness and luxurious comfort.

Material: Fil d'Écosse
Origin of Cotton: India

Certificates: GOTS, OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100
- Fil d'Écosse (French for Scottish thread) is a finely-spun, tightly-twisted type of mercerised cotton.
- Cotton is a natural fibre harvested from the seeds of the cotton plant.
- The bur (the fluffy top of the cotton ) is picked, bleached, carded, combed, straightened, separated, and spun into yarn, which is then woven into fabric.
- We use the finest extra-long cotton fibres, often referred to as Egyptian cotton in reference to its traditional origin in Egypt's Nile River Valley. It is now also produced in other parts of the world.
- Our extra long-staple cotton comes from India.
- Using extra-long cotton fibres (over 35 mm in length) makes the fibre extra soft, durable, and less prone to pilling.
- The fabric is highly breathable, cooling, and smooth.
- Our yarn undergoes mercerisation, a chemical and mechanical process that enhances the yarn’s characteristics.
- This treatment gives the yarn a superior sheen and luxurious appearance, perfect for styling purposes and additional comfort.
- The material is biodegradable and hypoallergenic.
- Cotton cultivation is generally associated with high water consumption, fertiliser and pesticide use, and soil erosion from machinery. At DUALLE, we source GOTS-certified organic cotton, ensuring organic practices such as natural fertilisers and pest control methods. Our commitment extends to implementing efficient irrigation systems, supporting biodiversity, and protecting local communities.
Method: Eco Chemical Dye
Dyed in: Brescia, Italy
- Deep black and white are the most challenging colors to achieve with natural dyes, with no current textile industry solutions. Thus, we use an eco dye process for these colors, which is more responsible than traditional methods in terms of resource use and environmental impact.
- We also use eco dye methods when we need to achieve colors or a specific aesthetic look that is not attainable with natural dyes.
Recommended to wash at 30°C in DUALLE’s laundry bag with mild detergent, eco-labelled if possible.
Dry in shadow.
