• Silk is a natural protein fibre produced by silkworms. A single silkworm cocoon can contain up to 1 mile (1.6 km) of silk fibre.
• Silkworms spin cocoons, which are harvested, and the silk fibres are reeled and spun. 
• We source the highest-grade silk threads from China which are treated and spun into yarn in Italy following OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 directives, meaning no harmful chemicals are used in its production. 
• At DUALLE, we source a special type of silk called Schappe silk 120/2, which is derived from shorter fibres remaining after the initial silk extraction. 
• Using this type of silk is an environmentally friendly way to make use of silk residuals, enhancing the sustainability of silk production while offering the ideal texture for our socks.
• Our Schappe silk has a metric count of 120 and a two-ply yarn, resulting in a very fine and unique fabric. 
• Our silk feels incredibly smooth and luxurious against the skin, offering breathability that keeps you cool in summer and warm in winter.
• Silk has a natural sheen that adds elegance to our socks. 
• At DUALLE, we blend some polyamide and lycra into our silk socks to increase the silk’s strength and longevity. This allows us to add stretch and flexibility, making the fabric more comfortable to wear.

• Deep black and white are the most challenging colors to achieve with natural dyes, with no current textile industry solutions. Thus, we use an eco dye process for these colors, which is more responsible than traditional methods in terms of resource use and environmental impact.
• We also use eco dye methods when we need to achieve colors or a specific aesthetic look that is not attainable with natural dyes.

Recommended to wash at 30°C in DUALLE’s laundry bag with mild detergent, eco-labelled if possible.
